Meet Our Team

Dr. Kimberly Bill, Veterinarian:

  • Dr. Kimberly Bill is originally from Georgia and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia in 2009.  She has a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Emory University. Prior to becoming owner of Catawba Valley Animal Hospital in late 2018, she practiced medicine in Lenoir, NC for nearly a decade as an associate veterinarian.  She has special interests in surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine.
  • Dr. Bill is creating an environment that emphasizes client education and compassionate care.  She is committed to building lasting relationships with clients and their pets in the hopes of providing the best possible care for her patients throughout their lives.  
  • When Dr. Bill is not working, she spends time with her family.  Dr. Bill, her husband, Nick, and their children, Wesley and Nora, all love the outdoors, and can often be found hiking and kayaking the nearby hills and rivers.  The family enjoys playing with their dogs, Maybe (a Schnauzer mix), Surely (a Cavapoo), Tim (the most adorable chihuahua) and their cats, Probably and Granby.

Dr. Brittany Bristol, Associate Veterinarian

  • Dr. Bristol graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia in 2016.  Dr. Bill has known Dr. Bristol since she was a pre-vet student and served as a mentor along her path to becoming a veterinarian. 
  • Dr. Bristol grew up in Lenoir, North Carolina.  She attended undergrad at Western Carolina University before heading to UGA.  Dr. Bristol loves all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, but she has a special interest in dentistry and feline internal medicine.  In her free time, Dr. Bristol enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their dogs, three cats and horse.

Michelle, Practice Manager

  • Michelle joins our team bringing six years of veterinary customer service experience. She resides in Granite Falls with her husband, fur baby Foxy, and has three adult children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. As practice manager, Michelle supports all areas of our daily hospital operations, customer service, and recordkeeping responsibilities.

Nick, Office Manager

  • Dr. Bill’s husband, Nick, supports the hospital with back-office management, recordkeeping, equipment maintenance, and facility upkeep. Nick has a background in IT and is originally from Ohio.

Morgan, Veterinary Technician (RVT)

  • Morgan graduated from Gaston College and is a Registered Veterinary Technician.  She lives in the Valdese area with her horses and dogs. Morgan loves kittens, kayaking, horseback riding, and hiking with her pets. Her responsibilities include assisting the doctors in surgery, processing diagnostics, maintaining lab equipment, assisting with radiographs, and providing client education.

Shannon, Veterinary Assistant

  • Shannon is camera shy, but many of you will recognize her as she has been with Catawba Valley Animal Hospital since 2004!  Shannon grew up and resides in the Claremont area. Shannon is a lover of all animals and shares her home with many species including cats, dogs, goats, pigs and chickens. Shannon’s responsibilities include assisting the doctors with everything from surgery, lab-work, and radiographs to helping with client education.  

Jessica, Administrative Assistant 

  • Jessica is our administrative assistant and lead receptionist. She enjoys spending time outdoors, visiting parks and local zoos, with her son and husband. Jessica’s responsibilities include ordering and managing hospital inventory, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, record-keeping, answering phone calls, and assisting with client education. 

Jennifer, Veterinary Assistant

  • Jennifer has many years of medical related front desk experience and originally joined our team as a receptionist. She resides in the Newton area with her husband David, three children, cat, and two dogs. Jennifer’s responsibilities include assisting the doctors during examinations, surgery, lab-work, radiographs, and assisting up front with training and answering the phone.

Ashley, Receptionist / Rescue Coordinator 

  • Ashely has supported Catawba Valley Animal as a receptionist for the last two years. She lives in the Valdese area. Ashley’s responsibilities include scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, transactions, recordkeeping, answering phone calls, and assisting with filling prescriptions.

Melissa, Veterinary Assistant

  • Melissa was born and raised in Morganton and has settled down with her family in Gamewell. She enjoys riding her motorcycle, traveling and camping. Melissa has seven years of experience as a veterinary assistant. Her responsibilities include assisting the doctors with surgery, lab-work, radiographs, and assisting with client education.

Christy, Veterinary Assistant

  • Christy lives in the Claremont area with her husband and three children. She loves to hike, ride her horse, and spend time with her Boston Terriers. Her responsibilities include assisting the doctors with surgery, lab-work, radiographs, and assisting with client education.

Lauren, Veterinary Assistant

  • We are happy to introduce Lauren as the newest member of our support staff team! She lives in the Granite Falls area with her husband and four children. Lauren has many years of veterinary assistant experience and is currently enrolled in the Appalachian State Veterinary Technology Program.

Brie, Receptionist 

  •  We are delighted to introduce Brie as the newest member of our front desk team! She recently moved from Virginia and lives in the Morganton area. Brie’s responsibilities include scheduling appointments, checking clients in and out, transactions, recordkeeping, answering phone calls, and assisting with filling prescriptions.
